We've identified and resolved the underlying cause for this I/O problem now; the cause wasn't one we immediately suspected.

Sorry for the performance issues you're seeing! It appears that there's one or more problematic servers on head55 and we're trying to resolve this now.

We thought we'd tracked down the cause of this, and resolved it, but we're still seeing a small number of machines reporting a slowdown of I/O.
We're continuing to investigate.

We've received some reports of slower than usual I/O operations on a small subset of our cloud servers.
We've taken steps to limit some "greedy" guests which were causing I/O starvation, which we believe should minimize this problem, and are currently keeping an eye upon things.
