We can confirm that the move should now be complete and we are currently starting up VM's.

If you find that your VM is not yet online and would like to expedite the process, you may login and start it yourself via the Bytemark panel here: https://panel.bytemark.co.uk/

Expert engineering staff have identified an issue with the switches which has delayed the completion of the move. Although resolved, this has delayed the completion of the move between the sites.

We are currently working towards resuming full service and will provide further updates as we complete the move.

We apologise for this delay, and the team are continuing to work hard to bring everything back online.

As per recent correspondence we’re moving servers from the Manchester Datacentre on Friday 14th October 2022

This is when the work will take place:

Move Starts: 22:00 BST 14/10/2022

Move Ends: 07:00 BST 15/10/2022

As part of the move, we highly recommend you reboot all your servers currently in the Bytemark Manchester data centre before 22:00 on Friday 14th. This will allow all of your services to start as expected after the move.

As a general recommendation, we also suggest you have recent backups of any critical data. And you might want to tell your staff and/ or customers about the planned move.

You’ll have no service during the migration window as the servers will be physically powered down and moved, there will be no service between 22:00 14/10/2022 and 7:00 15/10/2022

The filesystem and IP address won’t change, and you won’t need to change any configuration.

Expert engineering staff with experience across a range of disciplines will be on hand to safely shut down all equipment beforehand. They’ll then make sure that all equipment is powered up and returned to service correctly. And in the unlikely event that there’s an issue, they’re on hand to rectify it quickly.
